The Fraternal Order of Police, founded over 100 years ago in 1915, is the largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers in the United States. With a proud tradition of officers representing officers, the FOP is the most respected and most recognized police organization in the country.
Fraternal Order of Police Romeoville Lodge 15 was chartered May 26th, 1966, three years after the Illinois State FOP Lodge was chartered in 1963. Lodge 15 is a registered Non-Profit 501(c)(8) Fraternal organization run by a highly dedicated Executive Board committed to elevating the law enforcement profession, protecting members' rights, promoting fraternalism, and raising the value of membership. Lodge 15 members benefit from a variety of FOP programs and services including death benefits, peer support, education scholarships, and more.
Fraternal Order of Police Romeoville Lodge 15 will not be used as a method towards collective bargaining or labor relations within the Romeoville Police Department. Regardless, the local lodge respects and supports the efforts by the State and National Fraternal Order of Police in their efforts toward improvement of law enforcement employee relations and benefits.
We are not a law-enforcement agency, union, government entity, or political organization.
We, the Law Enforcement officers fo the Village of Romeoville, State of Illinois, as representatives of a subordinate lodge of the State and National Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, do hereby associate and represent thereof for the following purposes:
To support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of Illinois; to inculcate loyalty and allegiance to the State of Illinois and the United States of America; to promote and foster the enforcement of law and order; to improve that individual and collective proficiency of our members in the performance of their duties; to encourage fraternal, educational, charitable, and social activities among law enforcement officers within our community; to create and maintain the traditional of esprit de corps; to cultivate a spirit of fraternalism and mutual helpfulness among our members and the people we serve, and thus more firmly establish the confidence of the public in the service dedicated to the protection of life and property.
Fraternal Order of Police Romeoville Lodge 15 honors the following mission: "To encourage fraternal, charitable, and social activities among law enforcement officers. To increase the efficiency of the law enforcement profession, and thus more firmly establish the confidence of the public in the service dedicated to the protection of life and property."
IRS: "Subordinate units that are included in group exemption letters are not listed separately in Tax Exempt Organization Search (Pub. 78 data). However, the listing for the central organization [FOP Grand Lodge] indicates that contributions to subordinate units [FOP Romeoville Lodge 15] covered by the group exemption are also deductible."
